    2 questions for Championman ????

running a 374V Ranger with a Johnson Fastrike J150GLEI and the tach keeps cutting out at low rpms never noticed it at high rpm's what would cause this and also is it possible for a trim motor to get tired it seems to take a long time to trim up under power to get boat on the pad ??? thanks for your time

    Al,
Try this on the tach, take a small screwdriver and a marking pen, mark the spot where the arrow on the tach is now and then turn the slot with the screwdriver. This sometimes helps to remove small bits of corrosion. As far as trim goes trim motor up and deploy the motor bracket and check the level of fluid in the reservoir. When you open it up some fluid should come out if not top it off and then secure the cap.
Trim it up off the bracket and then on down onto a block of wood. Loosen the manual release screw a few turns and trim the motor up for a 5 count (motor shouldn't raise) then down for a 5 count for 5 times. Tighten the manual release screw and you should be OK
