I repowered my 185 Alumacraft CS Competitor with an Evinrude E-Tec,115. I took it out today for the first time and I have a couple of stupid questions for the E-Tec gods.

The system check gage cycles thru when I turn the key to the on position, then it cycles thru again after I start the motor. Is this correct?

The motor seems to miss when running between approximately 1100 to about 2800 RPMS, it only does this if I gradually (slowly) increase power. If I accelerate moderately it does not miss, nor does it miss when cruising or at WOT.

The motor did stall twice today, when immediately after starting I tried to engage the prop. Do I have to wait for the second check gauge cycle to finish before engaging the prop?

Can you check and see if I have the latest software updates or MAPPテつ痴?

The motor starts with just a quick turn of the key and the boat moves like a bat out of hell. Iテつ知 running a 13.25X17 BRP aluminum prop, my lowrance says 52 MPH, (no GPS, standard speedometer in op) at 6200 RPMs, (the dealer who installed the motor told me my tac was off by about 400 RPMs) I think the tac may need to be reset to 6 pole or position.

Bottom line the motor is performing as stated and runs unbelievably strong. I am up on plan in about 3 seconds.

Thank you for you time and effort, I lurked on this site for a couple of months before I made the decision to go with an E-tec based mostly on the sound advice and feedback from you all.
