'06 225 HO Blew today....Questions, questions, questions...

My 225 HO blew today. Up until this point, the motor had been slick but there wasn't any mistaking it when she came apart. I was running up the lake at about 55 mph and the motor lost power and came to a grinding halt. I was hoping that maybe it was the Lower unit but I was able to get the engine to crank back up and the noise coming out of there would curl you hair. Man, there is some serious issues in there. I can not imagine why it came apart. The engine has maybe 100 hours on it.

I am in the upstate of SC. The boat did not come from SC. Does anyone have any recommendations on who to take it to? I am sure that most dealers are really busy now. Since I did not buy it from a local dealer, I am sure that I won't get any special treatment.

Bad time to go down for sure! Does anyone know the turn around from BRP on a new powerhead?

both my 150 ho powerheads were shipped next day and on the water in 3 days. BRP will get ya set up quick once you find a dealer, sorry cant help ya there.

Call BRP customer service dept. with the serial number and they can tell you the dealers in your area. 847-689 7090

I agree! find the nearest dealer and they'll do the rest, the Bomb will make sure your back on the water in no time.

I bought mine 20 hours from the town I live in. And even though they have a triton and evenrude dealer right here, I drove 1500miles to get the deal I did.Then last year I blew a head, and within 3 days my local dealer had me back on the water, infact it was a long weekend and one of there employees worked all of Friday and came in before the sun was up on Sat to make sure it was ready for noon.Pinewood sports and marine. Bombardier will get it done my friend.

Agree with everyones comments here. I have an 05 225HO and I am on my 4th powerhead. I've not had one last 100 hrs. I would complain, but the company has been excellent at replacement the most its taken is three days. As a matter of fact I just had the last one replaced last week. This is one sweet motor, if they would just fix whatever is going on, it would be a really great motor

I took the boat to Lincolnton Marine on Clarks Hill. I was surprised to find out that the motor only had 60 hours on it. BRP told us this morning that the new powerhead would be delivered to the marina on Thursday of this week. I hope the next one stays together.

This one got the #6 cylinder. There were pieces of the piston down in the foot.
