Cable steering length ?

Hey fellas, A friend of mine is going to replace his steering cables on a 97 javelin 409. What length cables does he need.

You need to measure from the middle of the steering wheel to the right edge of the boat, then measure from that point to the back of the boat (Transom), then measure over to the middle of the motor. add up all three and that should be the length of the cable. If still unsure go to the Teleflex steering website.

You should see numbers stamped on the old cables and that is the number of inches long the cable is. It should be stamped back where they go into the engine.

I told him how to measure it and he says it was 12 ft but he said he couldnt find anythig stamped o the cables. I was thinking it was going to be 12 or 14 so that sounds about right to me.
