All,
I'm still trying to fix this thing - but I'm not doing very good at it yet!
I had originally posted about this under this thread:

I followed everyone's advice, but I've still got problems. It's a little bit better, but still no where near okay.
I had no spark on the two cylinders on the right (transom looking forward) and after swapping power packs from left to right and having good ignition - I thought I had finally beaten my problem. Ordered new power pack from Marine Engine.com and threw it on the right side last night and it runs a little better, but still won't stay running at idle without the choke lever up a little bit and won't start unless the choke lever is almost all the way up.
I'm trying to go to Bridgeport on vacation this Friday for a week and my daughter is about to jump out of her skin, since I've been promising her dreams of perch jerkin' and sand bassin'. I really don't want to let her down, so I need to fix it within the next three days!
Now I have changed the plugs back to Champion QL77s, checked for fuel at the bulb and filter, and replaced the power pack.
In the weeks prior to the mishap when it first started acting up, I had installed a BPS XPSi 5/5/5 onboard charger and replaced the ignition switch.
I didn't see anything in the chargers instructions saying that I needed to disconect any batteries or wires before plugging in the charger and the charger appears to charge and float charge properly. But, I'm wondering if the charger is frying my ignition equipment or if there is an easy way to figure out if its ignition or fuel. I've ohmed out and checked for shorts to ground on the wires that I can make sense of. I don't have the factory manual or schematics, so I'm hurtin' there. I haven't found anything wrong with the wiring, but I dont' know exactly what wires to ring out to verify the rectifier is good or not. Heck, it may still be a carb problem, but I'm not sure of that either - man I need help bad.
If anyone has any info or ideas - I'm open to suggestions.
One last thing, would old batteries be causing these problems and how I can verify/check on that? I'm pretty desperate right now and starting to get really nervous.
I know this post is a little bit of a difficult read, but I'm so frustrated and disgusted right now. Finally a vacation, and it's a little cabin on the lake, and MY BOAT WON'T RUN - almost makes it not seem worth going...
Thanks in advance.
