Testing impeller and water pump on 07 vmax 150

Hello, I wanted to test the impeller and water pump on my motor. What's the easiest way to do that at home without breaking anything? I would like to test it before I make my way to the lake which is over 1 hour drive from where I live.

put it on muffs and crank it in the driveway and make sure it pees for you. do hook up to the flush on the side and crank it because it will pee anyways from there.

What Chris said ...... muffs -> hose wide open -> crank -> check for steady stream out the pisser -> let idle for a little bit to make sure no alarms start sounding.
