OX66 lower unit

I would normaly go to yamaha website to the PDF manuals but my PDF viewer is not working on my puter right now, I was just needin to know if the lower unit oil in a OX66 200 is just regular 80/90 does it require any additive or anything. The stuff coming out of mine is kinda green. No metal or water thogh...thats good.

I use Amsoil Universal Synthetic Marine Gear Lube SAE 75W/80W-90 (AGM)

My manual says to use hypoid SAE 90.

What the hell is "hypoid" anyway??????

Hypoid covers most gear oils I think, because of the additives.

Thanks. I've used a hypoid C lube the past couple of years. But I will probably just go with a standard gear lube this year.
