What is the advantage of having one of these motors? Do they run that much stronger than a regular Pro xs 250. What is really the difference in the motors? Thanks

The 250 ProXS, 250XS (Torquemaster), and 250 SportXS (Sportmaster) all utilize the same powerhead.
Primary differences are in the midsection and gearcase. Gearcase should be selected based on the TYPE of hull, and the "reasonably expected speed" that hull will achieve.
In general:
UP TO 75-80 MPH: ProXS with Verado Gearcase
UP TO 85 MPH: 250XS with Torquemaster Gearcase
85MPH-120MPH: 250 SportXS with Sportmaster Gearcase

The "Verado Style" case is completely different. "Of and to itself".
The Torquemaster and Sportmaster Gearcases use the same internals (with two gear ratio choices), but completely different HOUSING designs.![]()
