Rusty, I'm the guy looking to buy the 1999 FICHT 175. I have a few more questions, if you have the time...would appreciate it. I know there is a risk factor involved but I want to be as knowledgeable a possible before I buy it. 1-The lower unit has been replaced. Did this engine have lower unit problems or is this just a coincidence? Will the lower units off earlier Fast Strike or Intruders fit this motor? 2-Did this motor have any recalls? If so, do you know if they were done or not? 3-You said the oil injector was replaced. Was that a coincidence also or did the Ficht tech. play a part in it? 4-If I was to buy this motor-probably will-is there anything at all I should do to help make this motor more reliable-large or small? 5-This may be the hardest to answer: I have read a lot about the Ficht tech., but I have never seen or heard why they had so many problems. I've heard bits & pieces but never a clear-cut answer. I read in a magazine or two that the Ficht system was the simplest of all the new technologies with the fewest moving parts. It is puzzling to me that the V4 worked perfectly & also the 200 & 225. It seems like it should have been a simple fix based off the success of these motors. Thanks a MILLION, Boylovesfishing
