An intermittent problem has been increasing it's frequency. I've had the motor since new and I started noticing skip or a miss, mostly when coming out of the hole, around 2001. Let the shop know during maintenance visits several times, but nothing was detected. Tried several different props and still had same symptoms, thinking I was feeling the prop slip. I did notice that the heavier the load in the boat the more I noticed it (during hole-shot). I have never seen the tach jump when this occurs.

Early this summer it has become more noticeable (?coincidence after putting a can of SeaFoam?) and can be detected more often at cruising speeds as well as during hole shot. I have not noticed said skip or miss while boat is at idle. Have noticed that I've have lost top end by about 3-4mph needing more trim to get what I get, then again it is 10 years old. Untill last fall (boat shop went under) I let the shop do the maintenance and last compression test spring 2007 had 150 all around at 200hrs probably omly have 10-15 more hours on it since then. I'm limited on mechanic skills but was wondering if maybe the ignition coils or bad leads may be the source of the symptoms.

Sorry for the long post, but you guys diagnosed a fuel lift problem for me in five minutes which took my boat shop three trips and eight weeks to diagnose and repair. Thanks!
