I'm just full of questions today.

(amongst other stuff that need not be mentioned....)

Anyway, Ya know those places ya can't get to unless your on plane? (too shallow to troll).
I just measured the battleship from the scum line to the pad. 17"
Also from the cavitation plate to the bottom of the skeg. 17"

Just how much of most props are out of the water when running?
I think the new secret color is "A-Rig"..........

So ya got a new avatar do ya?? I kinda liked smilin Bob!! Well your question about how much of the prop is out of the water it kinda depends on how high you got the motor jacked up but on a average performance setup i would guesstimate about 3 or 4 inches. If your on plane and off the pad it will be higher out of the water, but the boat will be deeper. You have to remember that when on plane the faster you go the higher the boat is from the bottom! Have you got a hyd. jackplate on it?? I know you have the low water pickup on your lower unit and if you had a hyd. plate it would be real nice in those shallow areas so you could run slower and raise your prop up out of harms way.On my little beer can boat with a 90 hammer i got it jacked up enough to where i started loosing water pressure so i blocked off some of the upper holes so i dont suck air.Where you fish at down there you would enjoy my little rig with my 4 blade flats prop on it!The bow hardly comes up on take off and would blow the doors off any of the big glass boats that i had on holeshot. The last glass boat i had was a 193 champ with a 3.1L 200 hammer and i ordered it with the lighter weight hull in 2000 when that was still avail. I did have a 10" hyd.plate on it and the bow came up pretty high on holeshot with that much offset on it but it was very fast for a champion. This little xpress has very little bow rise on take off even with a 10" plate because the 90 is so lite. That makes it nice in those real shallow areas on take off!!! If you want to know a little trick on taking off in shallow water without hitting your prop,i forget the terminology but go to the powertech prop website and watch there vidios. The guy explaines what he's doing and it makes since once you see it!!There is 2-4 vidios on there and it's a little flats boat,he cranks the wheel hard in one direction and gases it,and basicly rides up on top of the wave he's creating!!Just watch that and let me know what you think about it!! I never would of thought about doing that till i saw the video!! I think it would be real handy for you in the areas you fish!! By the way,we kinda missed not having the ''KING'' on here over the weekend!!! And it looked like Mark did a lot better than the king did at fishing this weekend!!!

I got word today that Marks leaving the Super Ranger at home to fish Pendelton out of a 15' flat with a 40 Hammer. Me thinks the King could elaborate on this Could the Knight of Ranger hood be scared to take his Chariot on the great Arkansas where bad sandbars and mean currents await him or his this his Trojan Horse?

I would think that 1 foot of water would be pushing it in a bass boat. I have ran mine in about 18 inches with no problems, but I would start puckering at anything shallower that that. To answer your question I would say take about 5inches from that 17 inch measurement that you gat and that does put you right a a foot.

I consider deep enough water to be 2ft.
(considering a soft bottom and that 2ft reading coming off a depthfinder which is about 12" under the surface anyway).

That's what I'm looking for to set down and get back out later.
If I know there is water that deep somewhere, and I can't troll to it....I'll get there quickly.
Just always wondered about stumps and, if I just "clipped" one while on plane...just how far under the surface it really was.

When I 1st got this zx250...I "nudged" lots of stumps for a few weeks. Things I never hit in the little 17fter.
