Setup: 2001 20xd and 2001 merc 250xb(TM LU with 27P 4blade trophy)

so finally took out the bullet. ran in the 75-77mph with bad wind. I'm disappointed at only mid 70's, but maybe it's ok since it's my first time out. CHINEWALKING all over the place. on board was hardly any fishing equipment with my bro(280lb) and myself(220lb) along with a 20lb anchor in the rear of boat and typical safety equipments(fire ext, blow horn, etc) on the side storage cabinets. Tried to have him sit in the center too just to see the difference, but same thing. I trimm it enough to do 65mph easily and when it stops accelerating, I start trimming up slightly, but the boat just doesn't like it even though speeds starts climbing past 70mphs. it's at that point when the chinewalk becomes apparent. Do you guys think I might have trimmed up too fast? Windy too with good size wakes so maybe that's a factor. I really want to get into the mid 80s. Previous owner took me to those speeds like a piece of cake. He was about 180 and me 220 and no equipments. Even with slightly more weight this setup should still hit mid 80mphs. hmmmm...maybe it's me. Let me know what you guys think. Will be waiting.

chinewalking sucks

I do love the raw power and torque of the big merc---so noticeable from 30-65+mph it's almost instantaneous. was cruising with other slower boats at 40-45mphs then WOT and 70+mphs come in one heartbeat..hehe......bye bye...can't wait for 80's
