    REED CAGES

Hello, JSRE . I'm thinking if a PORTED 5 Petals reed cages would be a better choice to replace a set of stock 4 petals rubber coated cages, using a set of epoxy single petals reeds .
I'm using my Merc 2.5, carb, 200 hp. for a weekend racing and my max. RPM's
    is 7,600-7,800 .

    Re: REED CAGES (JaySmithRacing)

what is involved in changing to a 4 petal setup??? Is it anywhere close to what a 7 petal promax front can flow? Is it eaiser to change to a 4 petal than change to a 7 petal...it seems the power really drops off at about 6200/6300 on my 200EFI and I don't know if it would benifit from a change like this or not....

Simple as a reed change out...
7 petal motors do NOT have the bottom end a 4-5 petal does...
