    Gelcoat Restoration Question??

Not sure if I can get away with just wet sanding and then buffing this out or if it needs to be re-gelcoated. It's sunburnt and pitted but on the front right side it looks like someone has did something before that's cleaned it up some from the rest of it.

    Re: Gelcoat Restoration Question?? (BigWalt)

Mine was about that bad on my Champion and it was alot of work, but cheaper than gelcoat. Get some 800 then 1000 grit and try a few spots first before you spend the money. It can't hurt, lol

I think if you go 800,1000,1500,2000 and then compound and polish you'll get a ton of depth back in the finish. Spend the cash on the good polish and compound too.

Wet sand per NICKK instructions and then use 3M FineseIT(not sure about spelling)and then a good wax. It did wonders on my 201D Cobra restore. Good luck, Jim

Thanks for the link. I will definitely post some before and after pics. It's gonna be my next project after the motor swap.
