    is there supposed to be...

so I went to take my boat out for the first time and it is squirting gas all over the place. someone had put my fuel system together with zip ties. I knew it would be an issue some day...

anyway...I have to take the carbs off etc to get at some of the connections so I figured I might as well put all new lines etc on it.

ON MY CARBS...there is liquid gasket on the block side of the gaskets. should that be there?
It was my understanding that it is not good practice to use permatex type stuff on fuel system gaskets.( though I suppose it is possible there is a bit of warpage or something)...

Your gaskets should be of a paper material. Someone may have used gasket sealer to hold them in place. Zip ties are acceptable as long as they are fuel resistant. BRP uses them.

I have no idea if these were fuel resistant or not....but they sure came loose.

Then I would have to say they are not fuel resistant.
