    QC10WEP VS QC8WEP SPARK PLUG ?????????

What plug is recommended for a 2009 200HO? My 2008 blew the motor and they replaced it with a 2009 200HO power head. I cannot find a chart telling me what plugs should be in the 2009, all I can find is one showing up to 2008 and they recommend the QC10WEP. Is the QC8WEP recommend for the 2009 because this is what the dealer installed in mine.

They are not indexed correctly either. This is what is making me question whether the plugs are correct or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    just a strange question.
Why are you worried about the spark plugs type and indexing? They sent you a power head with the latest parts and the plugs were installed by the factory.
The spark plugs are covered by warranty.

Unless it has changed in the 09 model year the QC8WEP's were only used in the 250's that I knew of. 200, 225 and their HO's all used QC10WEP.

May have changed though so best to wait for one of the tech's to answer for sure.

Hi, 2009 model 3.3L and 3.4L engines use QC8WEP so you have the right plugs, as for indexed there is a 90 degree allowance and the plug can be still used in that cylinder. Critical thing is that the opening on the plug is facing the injector within that range of tolerance.

    Cheers,

    Huey.

How did you detrmine they were not indexed properly ?

No visible marks to identify gap or did you mark & THEN TAKE 'EM OUT ?

Steve, they had been marked. I don't know if it was done at the dealer or if the power head came with the plugs installed. I have been told that the dealer installs the plugs.

One plug had the mark 180 degrees from the the pin on the head, one was about 90 to 100 degrees off and the remaining 4 were dead on.
