    QC10WEP for Fichts/DIs

I saw a post on another board from Seahorse where he suggested a Champion Iridium Plug for a Ficht motor. The only thing was, he suggested to go one step cooler. Anyone know why it might be better to go to a cooler plug when switching to Iridium?

    Thanks,

    - Dae

There prolly 20-25.00 a plug!!! If they don't give longer life or better performance I'll stick with my qc12pep's!!!

You read it wrong, Dae, I said that the plug was one step colder than the FICHT plug. The price is about the same as the QC12PEP FICHT plug.

    Seahorse,

Thanks for the correction. As for the new plug, I can't find it anywhere to get a price. Everybody I called, I didn't call any Evinrude dealers, said it didn't appear in their Champion catalog.

BTW, wouldn't a hotter plug give a better burn?

These new plugs are Champion stock number 9005.

They may not be a cure all and are NOT officially recommended for the FICHT motors. The iridium construction makes them last a lot longer and I'm in the process of trying them in older FICHT motors that originally took QC12PEP sparkplugs.

Seahorse, this plug your referring to, what motors are you talking about.

    I have an 98- 150 Ficht
    and a 03- 225HO.

    Seahorse,

How about sending me the plugs so I can test them out for ya?

I'm about due for a spark plug change and with as much trolling as I do, I need all the help I can get.

I called emailed them because they weren't listed on their site the other day and haven't heard back yet. I also tried Rockauto also and they said they would be available when they become available.
