    Johnson 90hp v4 oiler

Hey everyone i have a Johnson 90hp v4 model #j90pleeb serial number 04656530. i was thinking about taking the oiler off and just mixing my gas and oil. i have had to rebuild alot of motorcycles in my shop in the pat years for friends just because the oiler went out. i have only had this motor on my boat just over an year now. the motor runs great so far. im just scared of the oilers thats it. i dont trust them much so my question is should i take it off or leave it and trust it. if i do take it off what are the steps in doing that. i do have a factory shop manuel
thanks for your alls time and help

If you are that paranoid then by all means disconnect it. Here's what you do. Look at the fuel lines and look for a yellow plug with a black rubber cap on it. Remove it from the fuel line, remove the oil line from the VRO and install the yellow plastic plug into the oil line and secure it with a zip tie. Install the rubber cap over the oil inlet on the pump and zip tie it. Follow the wiring harness from the back of the pump to the motor and disconnect the 4 wire plug. Follow the oil tank sending wires to the motor and disconnect the black and tan wire for the low oil sensor. Your done.
