95' 175hp ois2000 evinrude revs. up from idle after about 5 or 10 min.

It wouldn't fire at all before I changed out the leaking stator and now it's still slow to start but when it does, it runs great for all about 5 minute and then it idles up on it's own to about 25000rmp on hose. On the water when running, it will start spitting and sputtering like fire is breaking down and finally dies. I'm thinking the power pack but don't want to guess. Ignition sensors were clean so I didn't touch them. flywheel was in good shape too. I haven't detected any fuel problems. So, any input?

What does it do in the water? Your engine is an extra long shaft so you need back pressure to maintain good running quality. Take it to the ramp, if it does the same thing, prime the bulb, if it gets better, air is more than likely getting into the system. Check all the clamps on the system,tighten or replace them if necessary. If priming the bulb doesn't work, punch the primer/choke. If the idle comes down, she is leaning out at idle. Sinc and link the engine, check the vapor seperator, hose etc. Or have a tech do it, might be quicker.

I would start simple......SYNC AND LINK.

Most techs will miss this simple adjustment and cause a frenzy of parts swapping.

I really appreciate the input. Im new to the forum and also the evinrudes. I purchased the boat about six month ago. I'm big on saving a few buck where I can, I'll start with the simple stuff for sure and I hope I fix it or know when to give up. So, 98 an hour? where do I sign?

Hmmm, Redneck riviera in the fall, ignition tester in hand, girls in thongs on the beach, may be a nice place for a moderators board meeting, maybe even a few of the jr mods too . PCB about an 8 hour drive from SC and can pick Krusy up on the way, cooler full of Kalik's and some raw conch. Lock up the china and free the wimmen.

I'll host your ventures thursday for a hamburger today? ( I mean tester )I think it's going to take more than a Ig. tester though. I sinked and linked and lost all fire again while trying to start. My charge coil output was 100v left and right where the manual says 150v. Is this o.k.? I just changed the stator as I stated earlier.I have no power pack output on atleast one primary. Is this what I think it is?

Yes, you have a very good point. I really have nothing to lose so I'm going to replace it today if this weather clears up. Thanks for clearing up the other things.
