The floatation foam should be there. Can't tell from the pics how thick the glass is where the trailer ties downs are thru bolted. If it is thin though I would want some support for the trailer tie downs.
Cut a piece of the plywood to fit and mark off where the tie downs will bolt thru. Oversize drill the holes and then fill the holes the with a resin/fiber mix. When cured you can drill out the right size holes thru the cured resin and not worry about the plywood edges ever getting wet.
Put a layer of mat around the wood before bolting the tie downs back in place , then put the foam back in.
there is about 2 inches between the transom and the back of the boat where the tie downs are and there is a piece of wood already fiberglassed in where they bolt to... i still need to check that wood and see if it needs to be replaced...

well there's a wrench in the gears...... had to go to the ER this morning and now I'm gonna have to have a MRI on my knee... the doc's here think I may have messed up some cartilage under my knee cap... but as soon and I get the materials and released from the doc's I'll let you all know...

If you messed up cartilage under your knee cap, get ready for a life long pain in the knee :)
Get a knee pad and wear it anytime you are kneeling on it, take it from me I know
Good luck on your restore
ok the good news is that my knee problems was arthritis just a really bad spell of it... the bad news is that my better half has laid down the law that i have to finish putting handrails and spindles on our front porch before the boat gets anything else.... so i'm hoping to finish this today so i can get back on the boat...![]()

Looking good, looks like a complete rebuild for you as well. I am slightly ahead of you it looks like. If it helps here are my pics. http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=420235 So far I have used over 8 gallons of resin... I am ready to glass in the storage boxes but it is just too windy here to day to work. Watch the bottom of the top cap, it appeared fine until I stuck a screwdriver in a little and it also has rot everywhere. Procraft did not put resin on the underside, I have decided to coat all new pieces going in. I will follow you along the way and good luck, I dread the wiring part....

It was not too bad at all, in fact just me and my 5'2" wife did it ourselves. I was careful with the console area to keep it from breaking lose. I have new pics from today that i will add to tomorrows work and upload.
Good Luck and take lots of pics to remember where things go, that is my plan.

ok before i get to the pictures of the boat i thought i might share a picture of my hickory chickens i got this year......
ok now that i got that out of the way on to some pictures of the boat... i got all the floor braces cut out and i got alot of sanding ahead of me but its coming along just nice.... i also got all the transom and the boards on the sides out as you can see in the pics...
in these next couple of pics you can see where they (the people who tried before me) had glassed the hell out of the bottom of the boat......any ideas or suggestions???
so thats what all i got done so far... i hope soon i can get the job that i'm working nights and weekends over.... so i hope i can get some more pictures up soon...![]()

Boy those pics bring back bad memories. lol That is exactly what I faced with my procraft. At this stage a belt sander was my best friend, It really takes the glass down quickly. I would belt sand that repair area down with some 80 grit and mesh and glass over it again. Nice job on the removal, your braver than I was, I only took sections out at a time, looks like you went for the total strip. Take lots of pics. Can not wait till you finish it, Are you going with the original paint layout?

on the outside of the boat i'm gonna just try wet sanding, but on the inside of the hull i'm gonna go with a smoke grey to lighten it up a bit...

I blow compressed air over me then into the shower. The only thing that I have found to help with the itch is Gold Bond anti itch cream or benadryl. Good luck, I have tried the paper suits and it just did not work for me.
