Gentlemen,
How do?
New here, with a new project...
1982 Hydra Sport x260, 115 Merc Has been sitting a number of years, last tagged in 1992!!
Drug it home last week, and started the cleanup....have found some bad wood on the deck, about a foot behind the front pedestal deck, on the main deck. The underneath seems dry, with no odor, other than the deck wood. Gas/battery hold has some bad wood, fairly easily replaced. Basement is full of urethane foam. No cracks/stain on the transom/keel. Gelcoat is in great shape, no worn spots from beaching, etc. Carpet is crap. Sprayed PB Blaster in the sparkplug holes a couple of days ago. Hooked up a jump box, and the trim motor worked, and the starter motor turned the beast over. Will work on gas tank later.
Preffered fix for the deck? Cut out the old, layer in new wood on scabs to the old deck, or just glass in a new deck on top of the old? I got such a deal, I can put some $$ into the boat, and not feel bad.
I plan on using truck bedliner material as deck cover rather than carpet, tinted tan or beige, and using the boat to teach the kids, fish some, and pull a tube.
Any info on the x260 would be nice, as I can't find any...
THANKS
