    Oil recommendation

I have a 2001 Yamaha 200 OX66 that only has about 50 or so hrs on it. It is like new. I bought the boat after it was stored for several years. New injectors and she has been purring like a kitten ever since. Except for having to rebuild the three low pressure fuel pumps. That cost me a total of $30. Anyway, the original owner used full synthetic Pennzoil so I continued to use that. Now I need some more oil and I can't find full synthetic anywhere locally. What all do I need to do to start using a synthetic blend (Pennzoil XLF is everywhere) or a standard oil? What kind of engine damage, if any, will occur if I make the change? Thanks!!

What does the book call for? If it just says tcw3 I would use the penz blend.

No boat dealers that sell bulk Yamaha oil??????

I am just concerned about going from a full synthetic to a regular oil. Brand is not my issue in this case.

i wouldnt be worried about about it. lots of oils are dino/synthetic blends anyways. just run your tank down and fill up with new oil.

Yes, something I found out recently was that if an oil has any synthetic properties they can just call it synthetic.

You can thank one of your major oil brands for that.

Well, I picked up some Yamalube. It was still almost $30. But after this gallon, I can get it for $23 per gallon if I buy five gallons from a friend of mine that manages a local boat dealer. I feel better about using Yamalube anyway. I hear is really good stuff. But I wouldn't be surprised if all the different oil brands come from the same place. Thanks for the help guys!
