    Head Net Recommendation ?

A group of us fish Maine every spring and the black flies can be pretty brutal if there isn't a breeze. Any recommendations on a good headnet and place to buy them?

    Thanks.

Yep, A friend of mine goes bear hunting and he said it was like a wall of black flies 3' from him with his Thermacell.

I put mine on my belt or attached to the seat pole. Skeeters all over the back. None on the front.

Check out the Buff UV head wraps. Protection from the sun and bugs, plus you can run with it and it can be configured a dozen different ways to fit your needs/situation.
You can find them at almost any sporting goods store (BPS, Cabelas, Gander, etc...) or their websites.

You fishing with Mitch and Ray? Our club used to pick them up at the Kittery Trading post on the way up. Check their website or call.

Cut a hole in the seat of your pants and there won't be any around your face.

Yes, it is a late spring tradition since 2005. Ray and Mitch are part of a group of about 15 of us who head up every year.

If you guys play your cards right and plan things out you could probably get a few of these for few from your local police department. Might even get out in time to make the trip north!

Not many things bother me, but those black flies sure do, especially 5000 at once.

Each year I hit 10 or 12 lakes and ponds from Little Sebago up to Cobbessee. It seems like the ones west of Sebago Lake have more bugs than the others. But these guys make it well worth it.

I'm sure the rod that Ray built for you came out great. He has built a handful for me and always does a great job.

Black flies...as big as a gnat and bite like a DOG! I bought my headnet from Cabela's many years ago. Be sure to put some rubber bands around your pant legs so those little bastages don't bite your ankles!
