I'm happy with our 60+ bass off of one area the size of the deck of the boat. Plus another 40 or so in different spots. Probably, I dunno, 30 keepers including a 4 lb kicker. That was all before 1:00 when the trolling motor snapped.

Thats a good spot right there! I never found anything like that, but did catch about 25 between 12 and 3 most being between 2-3lbs. No doubt if I had fished harder and for longer I could have caught 70-80 fish easy. One spot I hit about 1 and I was the last boat out of 4 working the bank and I caught a fish on nearly every tree and so did they It was ridiculous how fast they were reloading. I was anxious to try more spots so never made more than 2 passes on each bank before I moved.

Good fishing for sure. Everything early came on deep cranks. Was just starting to get bit on traps and swimjig when the trolling motor crapped out. Was looking forward to burning the flats, hopefully next week. And yeah, that one spot was ridiculous. I;ve never experienced anything like it. I've had some spots that were incredible, but nothing that small with that many fish. they had to be on top of each other!!!

Nice I had a spot 2 years ago I won my clubs classic in that was only about 6ft diameter. Caught just over 16lbs both days and I caught 70 fish there in 2 days and I let a friend of mine fish it for awhile and he pulled 15lbs off of it and said he caught 30 in just 2 hrs! I think its different on the river though, current positions them into tighter spots.

    Re: Heading to Macbride!! (buzzzzbait88)

All you Macbride haters make me sick! More spots for me i guess if you keep yur river rat asses outta there We actually did well until about 10:30-11 while it was cool & overcast. Caught them on spinnerbaits & Red Craw Squarebills. All shallow, and some viscious strikes for 59deg water. I was stunned. Then that damned sun came out and blew the whole day. I spent the rest of the day til sunset trying everrrrrrything just to get bit. Water was gin clear so im guessin they went back deep, but then again that makes no sense. Why would they go deeper when they are "supposed" to be looking for warm water!??? Water never got over 62. I wannnnnted to fish Muscatine Pool, but i didn't know how the river levels were and didn't wantto risk being the first one to lose a lower-unit this season... Looks like you guys did well so i'll be joining you out on Sh*t Creek soon...... Oh wait, you guys fish up north.... Nevermind. Glad tou guys did well today. I heard from a lil birdie that the river fishing is gonna be hot this year with the mild winter and steady waterlevels... Thanks for proving that hahaha

I don't hate MacBride. I'd actually fish it a lot more if it weren't for Belva Deer and Big Hollow. I really liked it before they killed off all those weeds with the back to back drawdowns.

I'd be willing to guess it's probably one of the best chances for a true hawg. Some big 'uns in there. The spotted bass can be fun too. Some BIG musky as well. Still, I like the non stop action at some of the other lakes better.
