    Lake MacBride

That would sum up the first 7 hours of our tournament yesterday. I prefished friday night to get an idea what the fish were doing, everything I assumed was WAY OFF . Made a few passes at shallow flat and nothing. Moved to some deeper water and caught some shorts and lost a beauty but then it died off. I had myself convinced the fish were deeper with all the rain and cold this weekend. Seven hours later I forced myself to move and try something different. Found the bass extremely shallow and just busting shad like there was no tomorrow. Now the frustrating part, I couldn't get them to hit anything for about 20 minutes while they are blowing up all around me. Finally with about 10 minutes left I try the chatterbait. Two keepers and big bass for the tournament. We had to "boogie" back to the weigh in and made it without any time to spare. THe bite was way off for everyone else and that managed us to tie up second place. I really wish I could fish that tournament over. I nailed those two keepers on chatterbait with no time left. The entire bank was bursting with feeding bass and we simply had no time left to fish. I'm going back out this weekend to hammer that bank. That was one of the most stressful tournament I've ever fished. I fought for that lake to be on the schedule and it nearly bit me in the butt. WIth one hour left I was convinced we just flushed the entire season down the drain.... but as Iaconelli says,,, NEVER GIVE UP!

ANd one more thing.... THANKS to Matt Berhenke (Strat201) for helping me out. The spot that saved our season was one he showed me when I prefished with him a few weeks prior!

Very carefully! Luckily it was really windy so the giant wake I was throwing wasn't as noticeable!

Shot up about 5 feet. Projected to drop back down by thursday. We had 9 inches of rain this weekend. Kids were swimming in the ditches!

If you're interested I'm going back up saturday to try some different things. There was too many fish there for me to not go back. Got some ideas I'm gonna try to get some more bites

    Re: Lake MacBride (Strat201)

Now I'm not so sure if I'm going this weekend. I thought the Hawks played at night but last I heard it was an early game. If it's a night game I'm going saturday, if it's an early game I'll just stick around here and hit the river.
