Lake Ouachita Smallmouth stocking?

So whats the deal with the smallmouth stocking on lake ouachita?Its seems the fisheries people have tried to establish smallmouth in this lake since the 90's and still it appears to have failed.I hear they are going to once again stock fingerling this year to finish out the program and than end it even though they already know its not working.Do they have so much extra time and money to just waste like this?Have they tried to stock larger fingerling to see if they can get better survival rates?There's no reason smallmouth can't do well in ouachita as look at all the other impoundments that have them in good numbers.So whats the deal here over a decade and still no results sure sounds like someone needs to sharpen their pencil or get a pink slip.

Last time I attempted to research this, I found that: For quite a few years, they were trying to stock local "creek" smallie strain fish.
And had FINALLY decided that the reason they were not doing well was due "creek strain".

They were then to make a deal with TN and use some of their smallmouth which had proven themselves in lakes. (a lake strain).

That's the last I heard about. They they were "going" to do that.
Not sure if they ever did though?

BUT, If you'll go to Bass Pro Shops, Get the Wii game "The Strike".
The smallies are STACKED up on red clay banks at Ouachita.

They have stocked the tenn strain for a number of years and find little survival so that's why I'm wondering why larger fingerlings are not stocked,I e-mailed them but have yet to get a response.
