This one amazes me! I was fishing a tourney and made a 25 mile run WOT in some rough water. when we got to out spot i came off plane and it was hard to get it out of gear, thought it was just an adjustment issue. Made the same run back in even rougher water and everthing was fine but the shifting out of gear was hard. At the ramp i tried to adjust the cable but it would just strip out. I noticed that the top motor mount bolts had snapped and bent the shift rod. the entire motor fell about 2"back. SCAREY!![]()
Should i just replace the motor mounts or should i try to ez out the old bolts and reuse these mouts?
What type of bolt should i use? stainless, regular steel, what grade?
Is this a common problem or have the outboard motor gods shined on me again?
