Everything worked before I winterized it, but now the starter won't engage and turn the motor. When I turn the key the little gear inside the starter spins, but is an inch or two below where it needs to be. I thought maybe I needed a new starter, but I replaced it and it still does the same thing. I guess something that I should mention is that I noticed the problem right after I changed the batteries. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?
