    Info on retirement property?

We are considering a move to a rural area/small town around Birmingham. We would prefer to be on the water and was looking for input on the best lake to be on. We like the area around Lay Lake and it seems to be pretty much in the center of things. Also, how is the deer hunting on public land and what could I expect to pay for a hunting club membership in the area. We are just beginning the looking process and pretty much have it narrowed down to this area or the Toledo Bend area. Don't know if they allow a poor coonass to move to Alabama. Any info on the surrounding areas and lakes is appreciated. Thanks

Columbiana/ Wilsonville is very nice. There is also the Talladega County & Coosa County side of the lake. If you would rather live in a more rural setting, those are the places to go. Land is cheaper on that side of the lake. Also Coosa County has great hunting on both public and private land. The drive to Birmingham from this area would be around an hour or less (depending on the area you select)
