To the Alabama BBC Bass Club Members…….

I would like to thank each one of you for your prayers and support during this difficult time in my life. My wife and I were married for 41 years and we lived in our home for 26 of those years and I must move from here because there are just too many memories here for me to stay. I have arranged for my daughter and her family to move in and take over this house and my plans right now are to move to Michie, Tennessee (pronounced Mickey). Michie is just a few miles North of Corinth, Miss. and one hour away from Florence, AL. It is also just a few miles from the Pickwick Dam. Michie is in the middle of absolutely no where….I mean we’re talking real country here. If you’re driving up highway 22 and blink twice you will miss it and not even know you’ve been there. But I was reared in Tennessee and I’ve always wanted to go back so that’s what I’m planning to do.

Words can not describe how much you guys and gals in this club mean to me and I plan to stay active and fish with you as much as I can. I will continue to attend all of the rallies that I possibly can so I’m not out…just relocating. Of course, it will be easier for me to fish with the Northern Alabama branch but I hope to also fish with the Southern Alabama group some too.

With that said, you Southern members need to get together and vote on someone to lead the Southern branch on to the next level. We have one of the finest bass clubs in the BBC organization, the best lakes and the most dedicated members too. Each of you have leadership qualities so choosing a leader will be easy. Of course, I will continue to help in any way I can. Thanks

Great to see you back Winn. As all have said, if we can do anything, let us know.

Now, for the comment about fishing with the Northern Chapter more.....It disbanded. It seems now we only have a Southern Chapter and a new Central Chapter. Since you'll be back up this way maybe we can get a Northern Chapter started again.

Hi Winn sure is good to see you post again, southern's loss is northern's gain. I need with the Pickwick vote for a monthly tourney. You are real close to some of the best big bass water in N.Al & Tenn.

It's sure good to hear from you, Winn!!

Let's see.....McNairy County, Tennessee......that sounds familiar for some reason.....Oh! Now I remember!!!! Wasn't that where the real Sheriff Buford Pusser lived back in the early '60's?

And don't believe that crap Jason's talkin', even though we have fished a lot in the southern part of NoAl territory lately.

I apperciate everyone's support and understanding. Yes Avery, Bufford Pussor is quite the legend in those parts. Word has it that he was not the nice guy as seen in the movies. They say he was an a__hole but he did clean up some crime there. Seems he had his own agenda too that benifited himself. Oh well, so much for Super Man I guess.

I just moved here 12 years or so ago so I don't have any first hand knowledge but that's what I've been told by a number of older folks that have lived here all their lives. True or not, many of them believe that he was totally corrupt and that he got pissed at a couple of local criminals because they didn't come up with his pay-off money quick enough. He decided to use his law enforcement position to his advantage and make an example of them so the remaining criminal element would be reluctant to try to short change him again. Deserved or not, he gained a lot of notoriety and a reputation in the press as an "honest" sheriff trying to rid the area of it's criminal element, and a legend was born!

Sorry, Winn.....I didn't mean to hijack your thread.....
