I'm looking at buying a 2001 19 SS Extreme dual console w/ a 200 Evinrude Ficht. The boat looks to be in great shape and has been garage kept. The owner states it has been used very little since bought new. He also sated last summer the shop indicated the motor had less than 70 hrs. on it. It has a dual axle trailer.
Would $12K be a decent deal for this boat?

Just get the motor checked and go from there. Boat could be brand new but its useless without a good motor.
Not sure about the Rude. I hasve the same boat with a 200 Johnson. I haved enjoyed my boat since purchasing it new. I have had no problems with the boat. I agree that you need to check the motor and go from there. As far as the boat it has a good ride and fishes great. Not the fastest on the water but has a comfortable ride.

Not knowing your market that well $12,000 might be a fair price. The motor would be the deciding factor. I would not just take the sellers word that it has only 70 hours. That seems to be very low for that age boat), have it checked by a reputable shop as a contingency of the sale. The money that it would cost now for this check up could well save you ten times that in buying a weak engine.

I bought my 2000 19ss two years ago for a thousand more than the one your looking at. Great boat. Ride is alot better than some other brands of the same size. Definetly get the motor checked. The hours sound low but mine had the same amount when I bought it. There were alot of problems with the 150 & 175 Fichts but the 200 seems like dependable fast motor. I have a single axel trailer and would not sell mine for less than 10,500. If its in good shape it sounds like a fine deal. Thats my 1 and a 1/2 cents.....
