I have a 258 and there is a front live well and a rear live well behind the passenger area of the bench seat on the rear deck. These live wells seem small. I want to use the little boat in the local club tourneys and I keep thinking I don't have enough live well for 10 quality fish. (I know, perhaps wishful thinking) . . so anyway I got looking and the storage area behind the driver's area is much bigger, lined with the same white plastic and looks to have a small drain indention. I am wondering what would be involved in converting it to a live well and essentially making the entire area behind the bench seat live well area - ( which seems to be common in newer boats). Besides actually doing the mods, I am concerned about the additional weight in the rear. The 258 is a SHORT boat.
I have thought about adding an aerated ice chest / cooler set up, but I already have little floor space in the boat.

Anyway, please hit me with any advice on if I am being paranoid about the existing live wells, or ideas/advice/help on the storage conversion . .or just generally anything about this matter :-)

Also I didn't know if the storage area and the rear live well area shared a common wall and maybe I could just pipe through it and for tourneys, un-cap the pipe using the storage area as a live well when desired. The live well would basically over flow into the other area and share the drain, aerator, and fill pump.

Our tourneys are usually from 6:00 - 3:00 and that is about the time frame I need to keep the fish healthy and alive.

Any help welcome . .thanks for our time!
