Maybe someone here can help me trouble shoot my problem.

My motor is a 1989 Evinrude VRO.
Here's my problem.

When starting the motor I have to hit the choke button about 10 times while it's running to keep it going on "fast Idle". Once it gets going, it runs fine, but seems to idle a little low. Is this just the idle adjustment or more?

Also once in the water, if I put my boat into reverse it dies out after about 5 seconds at low throttle. If I give it more gas in reverse it won't die out till I switch back to nuetral.

One more thing. When I shut the motor off and re-start it, it usually requires me to "fast idle" it. It doesn't seem to matter if it was off for a minute or an hour. And when I start to take off, sometimes I have to hit the choke a couple of times to keep it going, otherwise it will bogg down and die out.

Could all this be as simple as needing to adjust the idle on the motor, or adjust the carbs.

HRE'S SOME ADDITIONAL INFO:
#1 I ran SeaFoam through the cartbs, and put some in a couple tanks.
#2 Motor runs perfect otherwise, no missing, surging etc.
#3 Plugs are all in good shape. (No water in the tank)
#4 Motor has 120 lb's compression in all three cylinders.

So can anyone help me out with this one? It's a pain in the butt to always Fast Idle the motor and choke it when re starting and re starting it after it dies out.
