    stiff steering

my steering is really (too) stiff or tight. You have to use two hands and use quite a bit of force to turn the wheel. Anyone know what i can do?.....how to grease it?....or anything?....I have a 282 stratos and a 175 johnson fast strike.

    Thanks

    Re: stiff steering (spencer)

sounds like you need to replace the cable, had this same problem with my old glassprot boat, got the cable replaced for like 70 bucks and it was smooth after that. steering cables are something i wouldnt want to break at WOT, and the cost is small compared to some repaires out there. just an opinion though, others will confirm or give more info.
