    rpms?

Iam wondering what rpms should i be running my motor at? it's a 95 225.
Im currently running 52-5300 rpms wot trimmed out jacked up running all out.
Iam not sure whether i need to be running the motor at a higher rpm or if i should keep it where it is. i was told my power band flattens out at 5200 rpms so thats where i have it running. is that where i need to be or should i be running it faster?
    any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Re: rpms? (THE WITCHDOCTOR)

my water pressure stays pegged at 30 psi. no matter what i do it pretty much stay pegged.
i was told the power band flattens out around 5150 is this true? if so what is the need to run my motor at the higher rpm?
can anyone tell me more of the specifics on the rpm range of my motor according to the factory specs?

Your power band does not flatten out on that motor at 5150...... Lugging it is as bad as turning them up..... Like I said before , 5500-5800, I believe that ALL the mods will go along with me on this if you would like there opinion as well....

Witch Dr. won't steer ya wrong. Check compression, Make sure the engine is putting out the power it should be, if good then check for the other varibles. What prop are you turning? Has it always been this way? Anything changed? More info helps the guys to better answer your questions.

well i just had the motor serviced and everything is up to par. the boat is a 95 storm with a 95 evinrude225. i am currently running a 27 tempest plus or a 27 trophy. i just recently bought these props becaus emy old prop a 27 renegade was spinning too many rpms and i was not getting hardly any speed out of the prop. i was spinning around 6100 rpms with it. now with either of these new props i am currently spinning around 52-5300 rpms.

Hummm, I'm wondering if the old prop spun a hub. My old 95 225 Vindicator would spin a 24 to 6000 all day but anything bigger wasn't getting it done. Mabye try a smaller wheel and see what happens.

may need to call the company as it seems something on the set up is wrong. either engine height or prop or set back. Storms as pretty light boats and from the ones I have seen have and like a good bit of set back. I run a 25 tempest with the small plugs on my lead sled stratos and it on a cool day wants to spin at 6200 and it is only a 200 hp johnson. If you can call or if you are in Fla drop by storm they from what I hear are really customer oriented and will help .

bring the boat north out of the heat and humidity, you will see 70 , I know when it cooled down some here I gained 3 mph and my johnson wanted to spinn 6000 or more if I let her, which is good once in a while since she sits 90% of the time.
