The Yamaha Manual list max rpm at 5500, but it will twist higher.

thats what i thought but i've been hitting 5600-5800

Been kicking this around for a while. Owner's manual for carbed 150 states 5500 max rpm but most recommend proping to 5800-5900 rpms.

Are we damaging our engines running them this hard?

I'm running 5900 with my ski prop. Runs about 2400 pulling skiers and never misses a beat. Been worried that I am running to high of a rpm when running the river but also worried if I have Mark increase the pitch of my prop I'll drop rpms and power at skiing speeds.
