    re-fueling issues on my ZX

    Hi Guys,

I am having issues when I re-fuel my boat, basically it does not seem the gas is going in the tank as fast as the gas is coming out of the pump. I usually end up trying to hold the handle on the gas pump half way to try and slow the gas flow.
Has ayone else had this issue? Is this something I can fix?

    thank you,

    +1 above.

But yes .... it's a pain in the azz!

I generally turn it sideways and only pull the nossle trigger back to the first click.

You're not alone in the slow fueling lane. As stated, sometimes tilting the the nozzle will help.

Really is a pain sometimes. I actually find if I can park down hill it helps, but not all gas stations make that possible.

The hose that runs from the inside of the fill cap to the tank is slightly long therefore it has a "dip" in the hose. I just disconnected mine on one end, cut it shorter and re-installed it. Problem fixed.

I turn the nozzle upside down. That way the fuel is coming out at an angle closer to that of the hose. If that makes sense....It works though

mine is the same ........point it down hill , start off slow and turn the nozzle upside down and then she will take it as fast as it will pump .

    Re: (skeeter202)

It doesn't make it any cheaper to fill up... mine is the same the starboard side seems to fill up easier than the port side but turning the handle around helps.

Same as mine, I just turn the handle upside down, that seems to work for me.

Yep, mine is the same way. Turning the handle upside down helps.

SkeeterJohn, it's weird because mine is the opposite, port side seems easier to fill up than the starboard side.

I do best to turn the handle upside down. Also lots of time it helps to pull the nozzle out about half way. Drives me frickn nuts!

+1 on everything above. I think the gas goes into the tanks faster than the air can vent out of the tank through the same neck. Very irritating!!

Skeeters are the absolute WORST at this. I've had several other brands, and all six or seven of the Skeeters I've owned did the same thing. It's an art, gettting the boat on the right slope to begin with helps alot.

Re: re-fueling issues on my ZX (randy_almeida)

I had this issue on my 05 ZX225 and it took 3 years to finally get it figured out. I always had the issue on the port side tank. After several trips to the dealer and messing around myself, one day I got totally pizzed and determined to figure it out. I followed the fill line carefully all the way to the fill cap only to discover the hose was kinked just below the cap. It's real tight quarters trying to get your hand in thier and I figure that's why it took so long to discover. I took it back to the dealer for a fix, end of problem.
