Takes me forever to fuel this boat. If I don't fuel at the slowest possible pace, the fuel end up on me, boat, and trailer.
Is this common? Thanks.

It happens to me on the 90 201pro. Most stations have the pressure cranked up way to high so it makes it hard to regulate the handle.Guess they think all tanks can be filled it 10 seconds. I have to turn the handle upside down to work.
IE one day I saw a fella filling up his truck at wallyworld and he was not paying attention and wound up taking a gas bath. Soaked from his chest down. I know it was not full cause he had just pulled in.

on turning the nozzle upside down.

+2 on the handle. My old Cajun still will spew some out the vent caps but it's not much and at least it's not on me!
I've owned two 201's same issue with both. Upsidedown handle is about the best answer.
You can also lay a 2 X 4 down and run the trailer tires up on it. This give a little better angle for the gas to flow.
Same on my boat, it's just the nature of the beast.
Sounds to me like the vent hose maybe kinked a lil too make sure it has no drastic turns or to much hose. If its not breathing out the volume of air that the gas is taking up as it enters the tank it will spit on you. I had a lil problam like that too, shortend the hose and it takes gas alot better now.

My 93 201 will do it unless I start slow and get it flowing and after a minute or so I can put it full throttle on the nozzle handle. Seems like my front one is worse than the back.

I've had that in previous boats as well......the vent hose wasn't kinked but too long and had a dip in it, fuel will get into the hose and sit in the dip and the vent can't breathe. Shorten the hose so that there's no dip and it'll vent much better.
Thanks Dirt and Al I'll check mine for the same. Sure does suck filling that slow.![]()

mine does it at times also..sometimes I've noticed I'll have to pull the nozzle out a bit so the rubber seal thats on most nozzles doesnt actually seal up to the gas fill...I guess this helps the tank vent a little better.

I have the same model boat. Here's what works for me. Position the gas handle horizontal towards the back of the boat and ease into the trigger. If you look at it right, you can see the gas fumes coming from the vent. At this point you should be able to fill the tank as fast as the pump will allow. If you're filling both tanks, my condolences on your bill.![]()
I did the block of wood trick this past weekend and it worked great, not a single splash.![]()
The first tank full on my 200 I had to take it slow but after that it was fine. I can't explain why, but the dealer told me it would act like that.
