Guys, last fall I placed a SkagGuard on my Yamaha. I had a little piece broken from my skag, and I thought I would improve the look by putting on the SkagGuard.
I swear I have dropped around 2mph because of the skagguard. It is thicker than the normal skag, and I am thinking it is creating some drag.
I am thinking of taking it off for now and just see if there is any improvement.

Very well can. Friction or water displacement can create more drag and can cause a loss of speed. Try it with and without and see what happens. Might find your culprit. Could be hotter weather, barometric pressure, fuel, etc. There are many variables that can effect speed.
