Have a 2003 Skeeter ZX250 w/ 12" Detweiler jack plate. The motor/pump makes a noise but it isn't wanting to move up and down. At first, it jerked a few slots up and down, now it is low position and will not move back up. The pump/motor just makes the noise but no movement. What could be the problem? Any help is appreciated. I am using the boat again this weekend but can't if this doesn't get resolved.

I can't get the jackplate up all the way to be able to check the fluid. I have tried to jack it up w/ a floor jack w/ no luck
you will never jack it up , too much pressure on it . I am not sure how yours is made but can you get to hydaulic ram that moves it . mine has a pin thru it, different brand but sounds similar ,if you can get pin out you can raise motor with jack or motorlift . My pump went bad and I got my pins out , raised motor with motor lift ,checked to see if it would work without motor weight on it and then replaced pump. did you check and make sure that all connections were tight including ground and would wire get hot when you tried to raise motor?
took it to dealer. it was out of fluid. Thanks for info.
I hope they fixed the leak and did not just refill it... If you were out of fluid, it has a leak somewhere...
