I thought I would be on Easy Street by now but somehow I missed the off ramp!
I was told to use XD50 from the start and thats what the dealer installed in it. I have over 100 hours and have been trouble free. Mine is a 20" 225ho. And I run it like I stole it....
I just got my 2007 200 H.O. back today after having the dealership reprogram for the lower temp/horn setting and they are advising XD 50. Really wish someone from BRP would give everyone a straight answer. My ETEC runs great, but part of what I thought I was buying was a state of the art engine that could run on a cleaner oil and less of it. I paid $26.50 for a gallon of XD50.
My dealership is great and they bend over backwards to help.
The bulletin that BRP published clearly states that for the 10 models covered by the bulletin, XD 100 is the recomended oil to be used at the TCW 3 setting for those high performance applications.
XD50 and my dealer, Sport Marine, sells it at bulk prices with your own container.

Let's see, you spend $18k on a new motor but fret about paying a few extra bucks for good oil to protect your investment. Not worth it to me............
XD100 all the way!!

I do not "fret" the price...I have yet to be convinced xd-100 is better. My dealer sets every ETEC he sales to xd-50. My ETEC 225HO is on year 3, no problems yet.![]()
