Ive got a 94 R72, Thinking of putting in a recessed trolling motor control box

Thinking about putting in a recessed control box, heard it might be a pain do to all the foam and front livewell location. Has any one done this or have any suggestions?

I did my 97 R72 and wasn't a problem at all , I had to cut into livewell also , but with the right power tools hour and half at most , best thing I ever did, installed comfort troll , and power tool of choice was the multifuction power tool , the foam cuts right out and I also sealed the try around the cut by livewell , Good Luck.

I also put a tray in I used a battery operated skill saw set the depth for the straight cuts and a sawsall for the other cuts
As for the foam I kept dicing it up with sawsall and threw the big chunks away by hand, and had shop vac as I was going along for all the small pieces
Then with my cordless drill with a paddle bit I used it as a auger to find the pipe for the drain
It will go through the foam really easy and when you feel the bit hit something solid STOP and feel around with fingers
Took me 30 min from start to stop hardest part was first cut
