has anyone installed the recessed well for the trolling motor control on a 209? I've "heard" there isn't enough depth to do that. Be a pita to cut a hole and "then" figure that out.

I did it to my 95 209. I didn't have any problem. It also saved my back.
Thanks for the replies... When I get mine back from the shop I'm for sure gonna install one!
How far back from the battery/trolling motor panel is yours located?
I'll check mine but won't be able to do it until monday.
Not a problem. Mines in Fla. and I don't have a clue when it's coming back. Thanks for the help/information.

i'd like a little info on this. my back is starting to kill me when i fish long hours. a picture and where you got it from would be great. also dimensions on location on floor. thanks![]()
Sorry about the delay. I completely forgot. Mine is almost 6 inches back from the front dash. I'll let you know that there is a cross member up there that you will be cutting through. It scared the crap out of me but it was too late. I believe it is there to reduce flex on the deck. The tray did reinforce it so it wasn't a problem. I did a slight mod to the drain so that the hose didn't kink. You'll know what I mean when you get there.
Happy Cutting Guys. you'll love the recessed tray.![]()
