    Ledgend vs Bass Cat Comparison

I am going to purchase a new boat in the near future and looking at Ledgend after owning a Bass Cat and just wanted to here opinions on the differences, the likes and dislikes if any?

I have had absolutley no problems with Bass Cat, I am just ready for a change and like the looks, fit and finish of a Ledgend along with the customization they offer!

    Thank you for your help!

Re: Ledgend vs Bass Cat Comparison (bassnbatz)

I too just moved from BCB to Legend. I have a 2011 211 with 250 Pro XS. I liked the BCB boats...but absolutely love my Legend. I moved for the better ride and then realized all the other benefits..fit and finish..quality..etc etc etc. No way I would go back to BCB now...or any other brand for that matter. Congrats on your decision. You will not regret it.

Re: Ledgend vs Bass Cat Comparison (bassnbatz)

When I was looking for a new boat last year I narrowed it down to Ranger, Basscat, and Legend. I was in a 206 champion so ride was definitely important. Ranger is to proud of there stuff for what you get. So the final decision was down to basscat and legend. I rode in both and liked the speed of basscat and ride of legend so that was a wash. I then looked at storage and layout. Legend won out the basscat did not have finished compartments, old style rod straps, smaller rod lockers, and the P IV I looked at had large sliver hinges on the deck (Not a nice look). I then talked to Duane H. at legend and was sold. Just go spend some time in a legend (Fish and ride) and you will see why the rest of us are legend guys.

One thing to look at is how many legend owners do you see on other boards saying I am looking for a change? or not happy with legend looking to upgrade? You need to decide for yourself what is important to you. Basscat has a huge following like Ranger, but you won't get any better customer service than legend period.

Re: Ledgend vs Bass Cat Comparison (bassnbatz)

I own a BC Puma, currently for sale, and I recently ordered a new Legend. The Legends impressed me from the get go with the finish of the boat, how nice the interior of the boat is, and most of all how every compartment was 100% finished glass. My cat isn't nearly as elegant. Then you get to the ride. The whole shot of an Alpha 211 will blow my puma out of the water. I was suprised considering its a little heavier boat. The Alpha handles way better than anything Ive ever been in. Its like a Z06 vette on the water. At 40mph you only need about 40 yards to turn the boat around, but turn left, or you passenger will end up in your lap. Then you get to take off and run mid 70's on the top end, no matter the water conditions. The ride is unbelievable. You really need to contact Legend and set up a test drive. They will be more than happy to accomadate you.

    Framing Rig Comparisons on BBC

Let's frame ALL future the "rig to rig comparisons" like this...

    >>>Please post 2-3 MAJOR advantages that A rig has that B rig does not<<<

no IMHO ya ya...lay it out there...
    differences that are ADVANTAGES...
some points rather EASILY seen/experienced or measured...

(the rest is just typing practice)

Re: Framing Rig Comparisons on BBC (reelman)

Both boats have good features, If I was coming out of a Champ, the Legend would get my look as would the Cat. Only draw back to the Cat is an aged top cap design. I looked at a LE21 and a Cougar and Puma side by side. Both are laid out nice. I do have to give thumbs up to BCB for their battery compartement lay out. You can get to everything! Batteries, pumps with out removing floor panels. My old 201 Champ is in dry dock now but I've gotten ideas from both brands on how to redo my battery compartment. But if I was to hit PB I think the $$ if I was to get a new bass boat it would be split between a Legend 21' or a Stratos Elite 210 then a Cat.

The choices you have of Legend or cat are great ones. However: clean and easy for me. The Legend would be in my garage.

An aged top cap design? What year of Cat are you looking at? A early 90's model????

That new 2012 Cougar ftd is flat out beautiful with colors and new cap and sides. I think get what you like. One is not better than other just different.
