Oil comparison

We have a chain of stores called Menards up here in the midwest and they carry
Pennzoil 100% synthetic outboard oil at 14.95/ gallon. Does this compare at all with the XD oils????
$40.00 for 100 XD and 15.00 for Pennzoil I'm confused is XD that much better?
I have read the stories on each company having their own blends, but if they all have the TCW ratings are they not the same???
Please educate me, but be patient with me as I'm old an feeble.
I'm still using XD oil but I just hate to have been fooled.

Are you sure that the $15 per gallon is for the 100% synthetic Pennzoil, and not the Synthetic BLEND?

There is NO substitute for the Evinrude XD-100 when the motor is programmed for XD-100. With the TC-W3 oil program set in your motor, you can then use any TC-W3 outboard oil you wish, which either Pennzoil is.

Let me ask you a question, if the Pennzoil was the exact same price as the genuine Evinrude oil, which one would you use?

Hi Seahorse: Yes it is 100% synthetic it was on special but regular price there is 20.00. I just thought synthetic is synthetic but I'm not sure there are additives on either one. Just leery of companies today they seemed more honest years ago. I would use Rude Xd and I'm using Rude XD although double the price, just asking questions.

If it's the full syn Pennz, you can use it, but it won't have the additives that the J/E oils will have specific for their engines. JMHO No more than I've been able to fish this year my xd-100 is lasting a long time. I can still get it for 32.00 a gal bulk.
