I"m adding a fuel/water separator and with the Ethanol issues I'm needing to know when Champion added Ethanol resistant fuel lines to their line-up..i.e. how to identify etc...I have a 2001 206. Thanks for any input...

I 'believe' the new ethanol resistant lines came out 1/09. I also believe the resistant lines are gray with blue writing "EPA" notation.
You might want to get confirmation on that.
I just installed new lines a couple of weeks ago and I think that was the deal. I'd suggest replacing the lines.

The EPA should have really waited for ethanol rated fuel lines to come out before pushing ethanol..
What will they do next? Demand that our vehicles run on some new chemeical that is corrosive to engine heads before MFGs come out with engines makes out of a different material?
I had ethonal back in the 90's around here..
How many Champion owners here have replaced their fuel lines, where did you get them, and how much of the line did you replace i.e. bulb to engine or?

Well, I just replaced mine but I am in the process of an overhaul.
I pulled the tank, drained old gas, replaced all lines; fill, vent and fuel. I replaced the fuel/water separator filter and I also will replace the fuel line and bulb and in-line filter.
I don't recommend replacing the fill hose unless there is a problem... that was a tough one and it ain't cheap.

I let my Merc guy replace mine. Not sure what all he replaced, but I bet if you posted in your motor forum, you would get further info...
I replaced every inch of fuel line on my boat and engine last year. After seeing what happened to the inside of the lines due to ethanol, I will probably change them every 2 years for the foreseeable future. If you are handy with tools, it's a piece of cake. And good for peace of mind, too.

I think a couple of feet or so from European Marine over in the mercury forum. They are a pleasure to work with. I also replaced the bulb.

Well mine is an 86 and I plan to replace ALL the lines on the motor next month. Already replaced the ones from the tank to the Motor.

You need to be very careful now days! I think the fuel we are getting would better be defined as crap.
My buddy Bryan has the new type line and it had a problem: http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread?id=652411
I cringe at the thought what we will be forced to run in a few years.![]()

From what I've read on the Mercury board, the blue lettering is okay. The red/orange lettering is not the new ethanol rated hose. I replaced my fuel line from the tank to the motor with the new blue lettering line. It cost about $43.00 at Dixie Marine in Cincinatti. I also replaced some of the fuel lines under the cowling, that was needing changed on my 2000 Merc.
86 inches...im finding it impossible to fish a new fuel line from my tank to the back of the boat. is there a diagram some where that shows how the back deck or anywhere comes apart?? my tank is right behind my seats. i have a 2006 206 champion elite.
Sad but a reality. Here goes, you have to remove a aluminum L shaped plate that supports the 3 seats. It is fastened down by a series of screws along the edge, both sides and back. That is one reason I haven't changed mine yet. I have a picture somewhere in my favorites or you may be able to find it in a search. It's doable but kind of time consuming. I will see if I can find it on this Computer, and post.

A simple solution would be to install a 3/8" straight barb between the two pieces of fuel hose, put a zip tie on the ends and pull away.
