I just got my first tune up and they raise my jack plate up 2" on my 188 200hp yamaha.. Hopefully that will make it ride better and get me more rpms.

Does the 10 hr checkup have to be done by the dealer?

I would imagine it needs to be done by an authorized mechanic for your motor brand. Not necessarily by the dealer you bought from, if distance is too great...
