... is no longer required by Mercury according to the below local service manager?? I had e-mailed him requesting a quote for the exact 12-point check-up recommended by Don & this is his response?? - Time to seek another service shop or what??? Nothing wrong at all with my new motor (2009 225 Opti) - just wanted to ensure the warranty process etc....

Mercury doesn't require a 20 hr check any more. If you want those services done it would be considered normal maintenance. Spark plugs are 100 hrs the same for the fuel filter. All of those inspections are chargeable. Our shop rate would be applied to all of those on your list. Are you having a running problem? The current schedule is four to five week wait for new customers. Would you like to be placed on the waiting list. We are first come first served. We would then call you to drop off the boat. There are no day appointments. And there are a number of people ahead of you.
