I was reading some where about replacing the wood and carpet for the inner fender. Can't remember what it said to use.... not wood but some kind of cutting board. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

C&O has composite sideboards..>They are plastic and will not rot...
Have you stopped by Seagar Marine over in Canandiagua? Chuck Smith from there is on this forum frequently. At the very least he would be a good contact to make for future Champion questions.
I think I will be using aluminum. It will be the best replacement I think. I forgot about Seager. I think I will have to go over for a 210 test drive. I saw him at a show and he told me to come over for a test drive. About an hour away and now that spring is finally hear and the ice has been gone for a couple weeks!
190dcr, We have a material that is a marine grade polyethelene. Black in color and works great for that project. If you would like get me some deminsions and I would be glad to quote thet for you. We have it in 1/4" and 3/8" I would bet it would be alot cheaper than aluminum. It will last forever! Let me know if I can help. mrmiller@polyfabplastics.com![]()

i usually make my replacements out of alumminum then paint them to match the trailer. getting rid of the carpet keeps water from sitting against the inside lip of the fenders and keeping them from rusting out. this has worked out well for me and all my buddies!
I just talked to the C and O people this week. On a dual axle trailer it's $100 for the pair. I know it's not wood. I want to say its a plastic of some sort... I thought that price was ok (includes carpet).

I look at it as, anytime I can get something fixed on a boat for $100, is a blessing. It's not very often you come away from a repair so cheap.
