Do Any Of You Guy's/Gals Canoe/Kayak in Late Fall or Early Winter

I was wondering how many of you all canoe/kayak in the late fall early winter months. I know it is just like in the spring summer, and early fall, but the water is a lot colder. If we could get some weather that wasn't so windy I would like to take my canoe out, but early fall fishing was pretty well out for me, because of the horrible wind we had this year. All the lake we had to fish would blow me around like crazy.

I usually go to the South Holston River in the winter. Theres a lot of hot water discharge from the factory along the river and the water feels like bathwater in a lot of places. Good smallie fishing

heck yeah. lot less people to deal with on the rivers. took a trip through the lower wilderness on the Buffalo few weeks ago and might go again little after the first of the year.

If the weather is good on Black Friday I am going to try to take out my canoe for the afternoon. I might try one day this weekend too, that is if time allows it.

I find Winter to be the perfect time for kayaking. Mainly because its so cold to run down the lake in the bass boat. I can usually get on some pretty good fish this time of year too.

The wife and I are going for a Polar Bear Yak on New Years Day! Of course the forecast is going to be nearly 60 degrees! Looking forward to wetting a line!
